Lola and The Kickbacks World Chess Hall of Fame

Lola Toben is a singer, pianist, and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California.

Despite her petite frame and humble demeanor, Lola is always shocking audiences with her big soulful voice.  According to Greg Munteneau of St. Louis Public Radio, she is "the female Elton John." Her high-energy, heartfelt performances make it clear that it is harder for her to keep emotions in than to let them out.   In her blossoming career as a musician, she has found success in many aspects of the music industry. From backing national touring acts as a singer and pianist across the country, to being a respected songwriter at Nelly’s Extreme Institute, Lola is constantly working to surpass expectations. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Jazz Performance and Composition from Webster University in her hometown, Saint Louis, Missouri.

Lola performs regularly with her husband in their duo group, Bryan and Lola.  She has also worked as a soloist and pianist for several nationwide Christian conferences and retreats.  She was the featured soloist for Town & Country Orchestra and St. Charles Symphony in December 2014.  She was also a Top Ten Finalist in the 2015 Wildflower! Songwriting Competition in Richardson, Texas. Her newest project, Lola & the Kickbacks, has taken off quickly with successful performances showcasing Lola’s original music.   She plans on releasing new recordings throughout the year.  Lola also works as a studio musician: session singing, arranging, coaching and playing keyboard.  In 2017, she sang on the trailer for major motion picture, Kong: Skull Island.
